Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-08-21

1. Who we are

dashcamigo is a web app for viewing dashcam recordings, operated by an individual developer ("we"). For any data-protection question or to exercise the rights described below, contact privacy@dashcamigo.app. A Data Protection Officer has not been appointed (GDPR Art. 37 criteria do not apply).

2. What we collect

Your video files and GPS logs never leave your device. The app runs entirely in your browser.

We collect only anonymous, aggregate usage data about the app itself:

We do not collect video content, GPS coordinates, file names, accounts, payment data, or sensitive categories (GDPR Art. 9). We do not sell personal data, we do not build remarketing audiences, and we do not send ad personalization signals to advertising platforms. Providing data is not required - the app works either way. The service is not directed at children.

When you contact us or send a report. Separately from the automatic analytics above: if you email us, or use the in-app "report a problem" or "help add my dashcam" buttons, we receive what you choose to send - your message and any file you attach, which may include a list of the file and folder names on your memory card, their sizes and dates. This is always started by you, you see it before it is sent, and it never includes your video or GPS coordinates. We use it only to reply to you and to add support for your dashcam.

3. Cookies

dashcamigo sets no cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics and crash reporting are both cookieless, and your preferences (language, settings) are stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device - never sent to us.

4. Retention and international transfers

Retention: Cloudflare Web Analytics aggregates per provider terms; crash reports about 30 days (see above).

Transfers: Cloudflare Web Analytics data is anonymous and aggregated at the network edge; crash reports are processed by Sentry on EU servers (Germany). Neither requires additional transfer safeguards.

5. Your rights

You have the rights granted by GDPR Art. 15-21 (and equivalent UK GDPR rights), and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (list at EDPB). California residents have rights under CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information).

To exercise:

We do not profile users or make automated decisions about them (Art. 22).

6. Third-party services

Map tiles normally come from OpenFreeMap. If it is unavailable, the app automatically uses vector or standard raster tiles from OpenStreetMap. The active tile server receives your IP and the visible map area.

7. Changes

We may update this policy as the service or applicable laws change. The effective date at the top will be updated.
